Hey everybody my name is Denise Nicole Woosley, and I am the 2008 Grant County Fair and Rodeo Queen. I am eighteen and just graduated from Dayville High School where I served as Senior Class president, participated in volleyball and basketball, and am a member of our 4-H community club.
I was diagnosed at age seven as a type one diabetic which means I am insulin dependent. Last summer I was put on an insulin pump which means no more needles and shots, while helping me to manage my blood sugar better giving me the freedom to do the things I love such as being outdoors, going hunting, and riding horses.
My partner this year is an 11-year-old quarter horse mare named Stirrup, whom I will miss as I head off to college this fall to study Wildlife Biology.
I have enjoyed my role this year as being your County Queen. This experience has helped me further my leadership abilities, be more outgoing, and to feel more comfortable speaking in front of people. I hope the girls to follow have as much fun as I did and best of luck to the new contestants. Thank you and we will see you at the Grant County Fair and Rodeo.
