PRAIRIE CITY – Riccola Voigt, daughter of Pat and Hedy Voigt of Prairie City has been invited to join the Thomas Jefferson Law Review Association.
Riccola is a 2002 graduate of Grant Union High School and a 2006 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. She currently attends Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, Calif.
After completing her first semester, Riccola was placed on the Distinguished Honor Roll and was awarded the highest grade in Legal Writing.
An invitation to the Law Review Association is a prestigious honor reserved for students ranking in the top 5 percent of their class after the first semester and the top 15 percent after the first year. Riccola received the early invitation by ranking in the top 5 percent.
Law Review is a student-run organization devoted to the publication of a scholarly legal journal.
Law review students are renowned for their work ethic, research and writing abilities, and superior legal intellect, and many law firms seek them out for employment.
In addition to required classes, as an Early Invite Staff Associate, Riccola’s second year of law school will be spent writing a scholarly article of publishable quality. Then she will serve in an editorial position, contributing directly to the operation and success of the Law Review, while further developing research and editing skills.
After graduation, Riccola will be an alumni Law Review member and will have access to resources such as the alumni database, which is used to network for employment.
