Candidates seek city positions

GRANT COUNTY – Candidates have filed for open city positions that will be filled in the November election. The ballot will include the following:
? Canyon City -The two incumbents for the city council positions, Rachelle Simmons and Jacque McConnell, and incumbent Mayor Dorman Gregory have filed.
? Dayville – The two incumbents for city council, Dana Brooks and Skip Inscore, and incumbent Mayor Robert Waltenburg have filed.
? Mt. Vernon – City councilman incumbent Andy Anderson and mayoral incumbent Dennis Bradley are seeking re-election. Tawnia Douglass has filed for the city council position held by Denell Wise, who is not seeking re-election.
? Long Creek – City Council incumbents Fred Drake and Troy Pruit and incumbent Mayor Don Porter have filed to be on the ballot.
? Prairie City – Two of the three incumbents for open city council positions, Tim Coe and Jim Munyon have filed, as has mayoral incumbent Stan Horrell. City council member Roger McKinley is not seeking re-election. No one else has filed.
? Seneca – For the two open city council positions, incumbents Keith Schatz and Warren Wilson are seeking re-election. Also seeking election to the council are Mary Carr, who was recently appointed pro-tem, and Kenneth Miller.
