Marriage seminarJOHN DAY – A video series from Focus on the Family titled, “Love and Respect” will begin Friday, Sept. 12, at John Day Church of the Nazarene. The program is for married and soon-to-be-married couples. There will be discussions about getting a better marriage and finding love and respect from your spouse.

A two-part introductory session will be held 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, and 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13. The church is located at 521 E. Main Street. More info: 575-1895.

2nd Saturday GatheringJOHN DAY – Ladies of Grant County are invited to the next “2nd Saturday Gathering” at the Outpost Restaurant River Room from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13. Dorothy Piazza will show video photos of her family’s trip to Egypt and will also speak on long-suffering. Kathy Rogers will provide music for the praise and worship time. Spiritual ConferenceJOHN DAY – First Baptist Church will host a “Spiritual Warfare Conference, Monday through Wednesday, Sept. 15-17. There will be a potluck dinner each evening at 6 p.m., followed by a service at 7 p.m. The church is located at 300 W. Main St. in John Day and the public is invited. More info: 575-1355.

Children’s Choir performsJOHN DAY – The India Children’s Choir, a ministry of Bibles for the World (BFTW), will perform in concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at John Day Church of the Nazarene, 541 E. Main St. The choir, on a 10-month tour of the United States, is comprised of 22 children, ages 8-12, who come from the hills of Manipur on the India-Burma-China border.
