The Prairie City community turned out last Saturday, Sept. 6, to celebrate the re-opening of the DeWitt Museum. The museum, in Prairie City’s Depot Park, houses memorablia from the pioneering DeWitt family as well as Prairie City area historical artifacts.

Based on guest book entries, over 80 people visited the museum throughout the day, some from as far away as Ohio, Utah, Colorado and Los Angeles.

Vera Clark, museum curator, reports that all the renovations to the museum have been done and all the items have been moved back in. The museum is open through September, Wednesdays through Sundays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
