JOHN DAY – Welcome, September – the month of the Hunters Moon. As we watch, the crescent moon is becoming full.
Hope you enjoyed a great three-day holiday as Labor Day was celebrated.
Sept. 8th, sandwiches will be served; the entree for the 11th will be beef; Monday, the 15th will be cook’s choice. Enjoyed cook’s choice last month, of breakfast. Wonder what this surprise will be?
Don and Deda Porter, Helen Bogart and I met the Monument senior bus in Long Creek and enjoyed a very bountiful dinner in Ukiah’s Senior Center. Great scenery and visiting!
Sept. 4th, members of St. Thomas Episcopal Church set up tables, served the meal, and also cleared and cleaned the tables. The entree was baked chicken. Also served was potato salad, coleslaw, jello salad and zucchini bread.
Bob McCauley brought a head of cabbage that made enough slaw to serve eight tables. Bob also brings many goodies from his abundant garden.
Helen Bogart led the flag salute and after Bob McCauley read his usual funny – he asked a very special blessing!
Rosella Spahn had special guests, daughter, granddaughter and great-granddaughter. Having four generations visit us is special.
Chester’s drawing was awarded to Virginia Binschus and Rita Bremner received a free meal.
Enjoy these beautiful fall days!
Morning coffee on the deck now requires a jacket.
A person would do nothing if they waited until they could do it so well, that no one would find fault.
