PRAIRIE CITY – Sept. 3, 2008. are you really enjoying the cool-cold weather? September came in with a bang of freezing gardens here in town unless you were up early and had sprinklers running. So far we have seen 27 degrees, give or take. Must be true that fall or autumn is coming early.

The day started with Marvin, Ottis and Buzz preparing six tables for the 49 who signed in with Eula. Two meals were delivered.

Later the flag salute was led by Marvin Casebeer. The blessing was given by Billy Drinkwater.

The Prairie Drug and Hardware certificate went to Vivian Rookstool.

Our servers were American Legion Auxiliary gals: Lou Thoemke, Vivian Rookstool, Pam Howard and Louise LaBaugh.

The meal consisted of rolls, two-toned jello salad, mashed potatoes, carrot-pea vegetables, cabbage-burger rolls with tomato sauce combination and banana pudding.

From the nursing home Barb Bryant and Kathleen DuBuc brought Mildred Allen, Ruth Johns, Ellen Madsen, Daphne Andrews, LaVerne Matteson and Vern Randall.

Last report I heard on Barbara Reynolds is she fell and is now in the Blue Mountain Nursing Home.
