PORTLAND – The Oregon Forest Resources Institute’s (OFRI) Board of Directors has elected Peter Sikora as its new board chair.
Sikora, chief operating officer for Giustina Resources in Eugene, replaces two-term chair Carol Whipple, the owner of the Rocking C Ranch near Elkton. Whipple continues on the board. Sikora has been the vice chair for two terms.
OFRI is a semi-independent state organization dedicated to forestry education. It was created by the Oregon Legislature in 1991 to encourage public understanding of forest stewardship to meet social, environmental and economic needs of Oregonians.
