MONUMENT – The Dayv-ille/Monument volleyball team came up short against Crane.
The Mustangs swept Dayville/Monument 3-0 Sept. 12. The loss gives Dayville/ Monument an 0-2 record in High Desert League play.
Crane held the Tigers to less than 15 points in the first two games of the match. The won the games 25-13 and 25-11. Dayville/Monument came out strong to start the third game and led at the outset. The Tigers were ahead 7-3, but gave up a 12 to four run to allow the Mustangs to take a 15-11 lead. Dayville/Monument never closed to within three points after that run and trailed by as many as nine in the game.
Crane took the third game 25-19 and with it the match.
Dayville/Monument will play Mt. Bachelor in Monument at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17 and Adrian away at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19.
