MT. VERNON – Funeral for Clyde Carl Holliday, patriarch of the Holliday ranching family in Grant County, wll be held at noon Tuesday, Sept. 23, at Clyde Holliday State Park.

Pastors Paul Cox and Robb Foreman will conduct the ceremony, with interment at the Canyon City Cemetery. Viewing was set for 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, at Driskill Memorial Chapel in John Day.

Mr. Holliday was born May 19, 1924, in Estancia, N.M. He was a Navy veteran, a logger and cattle rancher. He loved the ranch life in Grant County. He was a longtime member of the John Day Elks, the First Baptist Church and the Canyon City Grand Masonic Lodge.
