Melissa and Sam Helmick of Blanchard, Okla. announce the birth of their daughter, Alexis Marie Helmick, on Aug. 27, 2008 in Yukon, Okla. She weighed 9 pounds, 6 ounces and was 20 inches long. She joins older sister Emma, age 21 months.

Grandparents are Ken and Cici Brooks of Fox, and Bill and Karen Helmick of Terra Alta, W. Va. Great-grandparents are Bob and Mary Ellen Brooks of Mt. Vernon, and Elizabeth Sisler of W. Va.
