To the editor:

The older gentleman sitting behind the Grant County Democratic table at the Farmers Market was my husband Jack. I resent the disrespect shown by the man from Tampa, Florida in his letter to the Blue Mountain Eagle (Sept. 17). My husband’s support for Obama is sincere, as was my husband’s service to our country in WWII and the Korean Conflict. I stand at attention during the playing of the National Anthem.

I place my hand over my heart when saying the Pledge of Allegiance and when the Color Guard passes on parade. Sen. Obama does likewise.

Barak Obama is a true American and will be a fine President.
