The John Day Fossil Beds National Monument will offer a ranger-conducted, one hour walk around the historic James Cant Ranch. The free program features the ranch buildings of the historic district and the human history of the national monument and the John Day Valley. The walk will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at the James Cant Ranch house, located in the Sheep Rock Unit, nine miles west of Dayville.
