Doing business in tough times

JOHN DAY – Small business owners in Grant County are invited to a class this week to learn more about how and when to borrow money in these difficult economic times.
The session will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at Old West Federal Credit Union in John Day. The panel discussion will be hosted by the Grant County Small Business Management Class, with Greg Smith moderating the event.
Smith, director of the Small Business Development Center at Eastern Oregon University, says the panel will include the following financial experts: Rex Baker, loan officer with Greater Eastern Oregon Development Corporation; Ken Olson, President & CEO of Old West Federal Credit Union; Rick Minster, Business Development Officer with the Oregon Economic and Community Development Department; Bob Quinton, Vice President and Commercial and Ag Loan Officer at Bank of Eastern Oregon; and Gary Ross, Commercial Loan Officer with Oregon Economic and Community Development Department.
