JOHN DAY – The Future Farmers of America have extended their fund drive that will put either Sheriff Glenn Palmer or his challenger Mike Durr “in jail.”

The Grant Union High School group’s fund-raiser originally was due to wrap up by during homecoming festivities last week. However, the FFA students decided to extend it to Nov. 4 to allow greater participation.

Residents are invited to donate money to the drive and select the person they would like to see put in jail. The chosen “inmates” will then spend a brief period in confinement, calling friends and supporters to donate to the school program.

Donors can pick between Durr and Palmer and also between principal Mark Witty and athletic director Curt Shelley.

To participate, call the school, 575-1799. People can also contribute and make their choices at Pebble Creek Apparel, Jonna’s Hair Care and any Grant Union sports event.
