JOHN DAY – Monday, Nov. 17th, Betty Retherford led the flag salute. Stella McCauley’s son, Bruce Blume and his wife Gloria of Kenai, Alaska, were guests. First time diners were Sig Scully, Sue Philo and Ginger Graikowski. They are partners in a new adventure, a gift and antique store called GG’s.

Most Popular

Members of Bible Way Church served and Pastor Retherford asked the blessing. Isa Larkin received the certificate from Len’s.

A delicious turkey dinner was served Nov. 20th. For many years, Don and Blanche Lundbom of John Day Auto Parts, have furnished the turkey for this dinner. They are to be thanked for this very generous donation, as well as all others who donate or volunteer. Also served was mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, California vegetables, jello salad, hot rolls and pumpkin pie. What a feast!

Don Caldwell led the flag salute and Pastor Benson asked the blessing. Members of John Day United Methodist Church served the meal.

The largest crowd ever came to enjoy food and fellowship – approximately 150. Cooks Cindy, Judy and the volunteers are surely to be congratulated. Seems I always see Sharon being a busy one in the kitchen.

Sorry, I neglected to get the menus for December.

Bob McCauley’s stories are always enjoyed and everyone looks forward to hearing them. Often not mentioned, are the gals who take care of the front desk, the Site Council, the senior hall board members and Carryl, who announces and makes sure tables are properly set for all diners. Thanks to all!

Remember: Happiness is an inside job.

Happy Thanksgiving!
