Centennial Fair looking for theme favorites

GRANT COUNTY – The Grant County Fair Board is seeking the public’s input in choosing the theme for the 100th Grant County Fair, coming up in 2009.
The Board launched a contest to pick a theme, and the five finalists have been selected out of a field of 20. The finalists are:
? A Century of Memories
? 100 Years, Still in the Saddle
? 100 Years of Good Stock and Great People
? Journey Through Time to 2009
? 100 Years, a Timeless Tradition
People can vote by casting ballots in specially decorated theme boxes, which will travel to several locations around the county over the coming weeks.
To vote for your favorite theme, put $1 per vote in the theme box of your choice. It’s OK to vote more than once. The theme that has received the most money will be the 100th Grant County Fair Theme.
All the money raised through the voting process will be used to support the 100th Grant County Fair.
The boxes will be available for voting on the following dates and locations:
Dec. 3, 4 and 5 – Boyer’s Store, Monument.
Dec. 6 – Keerins Hall Holiday Bazaar.
Dec. 8 (afternoon only) and 9 – Dayville Mercantile.
Dec. 10 and 11 – Huffman’s Market, Prairie City.
Dec. 12 – Festival of Children, Fairgrounds, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Dec. 12 – Festival of Trees Fairgrounds, 6 -10 p.m.
Dec. 13 – Timber Truckers Parade Dinner, Fairgrounds.
The winning theme will be announced Dec. 17 in the Blue Mountain Eagle and KJDY.
