Obituaries: Donna Beth Morin

Donna Beth Morin, 69, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008 at her home in Hereford. A memorial service was held Dec. 22 at Gray’s West & Company Pioneer Chapel in Baker City, with Lynn Shumway of Burnt River Community Church officiating.

Mrs. Morin was born Feb. 7, 1939 in Newcastle, Wyo., to Grover Scott Jenkins and Nina Hazel (McHenry) Jenkins. She graduated from Wy’east High School in Hood River in 1958.

On June 18, 1960, she married Wayne Eugene Morin at the Assembly of God Church in Hood River.

She worked for most of her life as a rancher and homemaker. Her hobbies included needlework, gardening, cooking, canning, fishing and traveling.

She worked the ranch alongside her husband until retirement. Their ranch, which has been in the family for generations, received recognition from the Oregon Century Farm and Ranch Program.

After retirement, she worked on her hobbies. She was a devoted grandma and liked to fish with her grandchildren Cody and Tyler on the Burnt River. In 1995, she traveled to Europe with her husband and her daughter Waynette, and also traveled to several states visiting family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Morin; daughter, Waynette Morin of Hereford; son-in-law, John Belveal of Hereford; son, Ralph (Cori) Morin of Summerville; grandchildren, Cody and Tyler Belveal of Hereford, Ellie Brook and Hailey Morin of Summerville.

She was preceded in death by her father, Grover Jenkins; mother, Hazel Jenkins; and brother, Richard Feron.
