Spray trio stops LC

LONG CREEK – The Fischers were too much for the Long Creek basketball team.
Spray beat Long Creek 81-44. The Eagles’ trio of Fischer brothers, Joseph, Josiah and Nolan, outscored the Mountaineers on their own. They combined for 61 points.
Spray senior Joseph led the team with 30 points and his twin Josiah was second with 17. Younger brother Nolan had 14 points in the game.
Spray is currently ranked fourth in the state and has only lost a single game, to the No. 2 team in the state.
Tyler Moodenbaugh led the Mountaineers with 16 points. Willie Chang had nine points and Matthew Martin contributed eight.
The loss gives Long Creek a 2-5 overall record and a 2-2 record in the High Desert League. They’ve beat Monument/Dayville and Huntington, but lost to Harper and Spray.
The Mountaineers will head down the road to play their next game against Ukiah at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9.
