The Grant Union football team made school history with a 28-14 victory against Gold Beach in the 3A state championship game Nov. 29 in Hillsboro.

The Prospectors championship is the first for Grant Union since 1943.

The Pros forced Gold Beach quarterback Jeffrey Knox to make five turnovers in the game with tough defense. Grant Union then used those turnovers to score four touchdowns and win the game.
