The Grant Girls were on the verge of the playoffs heading into their game against Umatilla Feb. 15. They trailed Vale by a single game for the final playoff spot and needed a win to make the playoffs.

Grant Union fought hard, but at the end of regulation the game was tied 34-34.

The Grant Girls came out strong in the overtime period and outscored Umatilla 19-5 in the final minutes to win 65-51.
