Retha Freeman, 90, died at Blue Mountain Hospital on Nov. 23, 2008.

Mrs. Freeman was born Nov. 5, 1918 in Bertha, Mo.
She was a resident of Valley View Assisted Living Residence for about three years. Prior to that, she spent most of her life in Douglas County, Mo., with short periods of time in California, Iowa and John Day.
She was a hard worker throughout her life, working at many jobs.

She loved parties, reading, walking, fishing and laughing, but mostly she enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty (Jack) Retherford of Mt. Vernon and Karen Fahey of Marshfield, Mo.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis Freeman in 1974; her son, Paul; three brothers; three sisters; and one grandson.
Services were held at Faith Rock Church in Ava, Mo. in December, with interment at Brushy Knob Cemetery near Ava, Mo.
