Within the county, however, residents and visitors alike are never far from medical treatment and services, whether emergency or routine.
That assurance rests with the staff and associates of the 25-bed Blue Mountain Hospital in John Day, the Strawberry Wilderness Community Clinic and other physicians with offices near the hospital that provide around-the-clock emergency services to meet the needs of the public.
The hospital offers a countywide ambulance service that quickly transports emergency patients to the hospital, and Blue Mountain Hospital works in cooperation with AirLink of Oregon, a Bend-based medical flight service that transports to hospitals and medical centers throughout the Pacific Northwest.
