FRENCHGLEN – The historic Roaring Springs Ranch is looking for folks who once lived or worked there to share photos and memorabilia of time past.

The ranch will host a history day on Saturday, June 27. People with memories and memorabilia of the ranch are invited to visit and spend a day reminiscing and enjoying the scenery.

A barbecue with all the fixings is planned, and it will have two lines: steaks for those who bring a written story or photo from the past, and hamburgers or hot dogs for those who just drop in without a history contribution.

A scanner will be available to scan photos so people can take the originals back home. Cameras and video equipment also will be on site.

Roaring Springs Ranch dates back more than 100 years, and the owners say hundreds of families have lived or worked there. Many of the fences were built by Civilian Conservation Corps men. Buckaroos, farmers, mechanics, range cons, Extension agents, conservationists, politicians and more may have stories to share.

To help the organizers plan, those who plan to attend should RSVP to (roaringsprings@highdesertair.com) or call 541-495-2263. Or write to Roaring Springs Ranch, 31437 Highway 205, Frenchglen, OR 97736.
