Small firms can seek ODOT jobs in E. Oregon

LA GRANDE – Smaller firms could qualify for construction projects under a new program of the Oregon Department of Transportation’s Procurement Office.

The Small Contracting Program for Construction (SPC has a goal of increasing economic opportunities for Oregon workers and businesses, diversifying the size of companies that are awarded ODOT construction contracts and boosting participation in transportation projects.

A slate of ODOT construction projects valued at $100,000 or less have been set aside for the program. Contractors who have pre-qualified under the Small Contracting Program for Construction are eligible.

Listed below is a sample listing of potential ODOT Eastern Oregon area projects in this program.

A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to participate in the program is posted on ORPIN, the Oregon Procurement Information Network website. Examples of the projects up for bid are: remodeling and repair of the Basque Maintenance Station in Malheur County; painting and siding repair at the ODOT Spray Sand Shed in Morrow County; and fencing, sidewalk and landscape upgrades at a rest area in Umatilla County.
