MONUMENT – The Dayville/Monument volleyball team is getting close, they just can’t seem to get over the hump.

The Lady Tigers once again lost a tough three-set match Friday, Sept. 25 to Jordan Valley, 23-25, 22-25 and 22-25.

“We were close,” head coach Stephanie Reed said. “The girls are disappointed.”

Reed said they should have won, but emotions got the better of her team.

“We did it to ourselves,” Reed said.

Going into a match Friday, Oct. 2, against Adrian, Reed said her team is going to be talking about dealing with their emotions.

“They are another good team, but we’re going to play with them,” she said.

Reed highlighted the play of junior Shyanne Winters and senior captain Samantha Grief.

“They both did well,” Reed said.

The game is slated for 2 p.m. at the Monument gym.
