UNITY – Dorothy Lorene “Sis” Bradford, 87, of Unity, died Sept. 24, 2009. A graveside service was held Sept. 28, at Prairie City Cemetery. The Rev. Dan Mason of Burnt River Community Church officiated.
Mrs. Bradford was born on March 25, 1922 in Prairie City to Mads and Nina (Goins) Sorenson. She graduated from Prairie City High School in 1940 and went on to work for Thrifty Food and Electric as a clerk and bookkeeper until 1960.
On Dec. 5, 1965 she married Roland Bradford. They had a daughter, Patricia Mae.
They moved to Unity where they ranched until his death in 1966. She worked for Stratton Store part time and later full time until she retired in 2000. She also served as Unity city recorder from 1973-1986.
She enjoyed fishing and watching bull riding on TV. She was also a member of the Prairie City Riding Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Mae of Unity; sisters, Sharon (Ron) Dunne of Nampa, Idaho, and Delphine MacPherson of Ontario; longtime friend and companion, Larry Dean Stratton; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roland Bradford; a stepson, Gail Bradford; sisters, Juanita Clark and Belva; brother, Howard; and two grandsons, Mitch and Darren Bradford.
