Justice CourtCANYON CITY – The Grant County Justice Court reported the following fines and judgments:
? Garland Shelton, Chester, Calif., was cited for driving while suspended and fined $427.
? Donald Lester, Canby, was cited for violation of the basic rule (52/35 zone) and fined $145.

? Rod Rookstool, John Day, was cited for failing to stop when emerging from an alley and fined $185.
? Jessica Moss, Aloha, was cited for violation of the basic rule (75/55 zone) and fined $145.
? Robert Boyd, Boise, Idaho, was cited for not wearing a helmet and driving outside restrictions. He was fined $295.
? Daniel Saunders, Portland, was cited for violation of the speed law (51/25 zone) and fined $185.
? Naveen Mundanda, Portland, was cited for violation of the basic rule (71/55 zone) and fined $110.
? Tamara Bertalotto, Sherwood, was cited for violation of the speed law (50/25 zone) and fined $185.
? Linda Crosby, Enterprise, Ala., was cited for violation of the speed law (54/35 zone) and fined $110.
? Robin Anderson, Mitchell, was cited for violation of the speed law (59/35 zone) and fined $242.
? Roger Banvard, Newport, was cited for careless driving and fined $242.
? Brandon Wilson, Mt. Vernon, was convicted of exceeding the bag limit for bighorn sheep. He was ordered to perform 40 hours of community service and fined $299, plus $95 in restitution to Russell’s Custom Meats and Deli.
Grant County Sheriff? John Osburn, 57, Monument, was cited for violation of the basic rule (77/55 zone).
? Timothy Suhrstedt, 52, Roseburg, was cited for violation of the basic rule (79/55 zone).

Law enforcement: Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported theft of tools on State Route 402; John Day Police responded to a report that an office was broken into; Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported theft from a construction site on State Route 19; JD Police responded to a report of a vehicle damaged while parked in the Chester’s Thriftway parking lot; JD Police responded to a report of a runaway in the Hillcrest Road area; JD Police arrested a Bend man for disorderly conduct and criminal mischief; JD Police and Oregon State Police responded to a fight on South Canyon Blvd. JD Police investigated a possible illegal burn on SW Brent Street; JD Police cited a juvenile for assault and minor in possession of alcohol; Oregon State Police responded to a report of cows on Highway 395 south of Ritter Butte; JD Police responded to a report that someone ran into a fire hydrant on South Canyon Blvd. and 1st Avenue; JD Police cited a John Day woman for driving while suspended and failing to carry proof of insurance; John Day Public Works responded to a report that a tree had fallen over at America’s Best Value Inn; OSP responded to a report of cows on Highway 26 near Fireside Lodge; JD Police responded to a reported rape on SE Gunther Street; JD Police received information on reported sex abuse at Riverside Mobile Home Park; Prairie City Fire Department responded to a reported open burn on 11th Street; Sheriff’s deputies cited a John Day man for minor in possession of alcohol; Sheriff’s deputies received a report of a missing aircraft; JD Police responded to a report that a vehicle hit a building at R & S Self Storage; Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a stolen bike at Strawberry Village Apartments; JD Police responded to a theft report on SE Elm Street; JD Police cited a Washington woman for failure to carry registration and proof of insurance; OSP, Sheriff’s deputies, JD ambulance and the Oregon Department of Transportation responded to a car wreck on Forest Service Road 21; dispatch and the ODOT responded to reports of rock slides on State Route 402 and in the Picture Gorge area of State Route 19; JD Police assisted OSP with a report of shots fired from State Route 402; Sheriff’s deputies took a burglary report in the Beech Creek area.
Ambulance: John Day ambulance was requested for an elderly woman who was extremely dizzy and slurring her words; JD ambulance was requested for an elderly woman who fell and might have a hip fracture; JD ambulance was paged for a 71-year-old woman; JD ambulance responded to a man with chest pains; JD ambulance responded to a vehicle accident on Highway 7 near milepost 5; JD ambulance responded to an elderly woman with chest pains; Prairie City ambulance responded for a 55-year-old man who had fallen.
