Arrests and citations in the Blue Mountain Eagle are taken from the logs of area law-enforcement agencies. Every effort is made to report the court disposition of all arrests listed.

Justice CourtCANYON CITY – The Grant County Justice Court reported the following fines and judgments:

? Cited for violation of the basic rule: Robert Scott, Bend (42/25 zone), fined $145; Dustin Robey, Burns, (82/55 zone), fined $242; and Shantella Lenchanko, Kapolei, Hawaii, (71/55 zone), fined $110.

? Douglas McDaniel, John Day, cited for careless driving and fined $185.

? Nathanael Brown, Kingston, Wash., cited for violation of the speed law (56/35 zone) and fined $185.

? Curtis J. Clark, Prairie City, was convicted of minor in possession of alcohol, for a fine of $500 and open container of alcohol for a fine of $230. His driver’s license was suspended for one year.

Oregon State Police? Oregon State Police responded to a reported spun-out truck on Highway 26, just west of Dixie Creek Summit, at about 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31. Troopers directed traffic around the commercial truck and flatbed trailers that were blocking both lanes, until the Oregon Department of Transportation arrived to apply gravel for traction to move the vehicles. Michael J. Usabel, 41, was cited for failure to carry chains.

? About 1:55 a.m. Friday, Jan. 1, troopers stopped a vehicle on Highway 26, east of Dixie Creek Road, for making an unsafe turn and defective lighting. Cheryl Ann Neault, 51, was taken to Grant County Jail, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

? On Friday, Jan. 1, troopers stopped a vehicle on County Road 48, near County Road 49, for not signaling a turn. The driver, Shawn Lee Brockway, 34, Mt. Vernon, was taken to Grant County Jail, charged with DUII-alcohol. A passenger, Christopher R. Hoppe, 26, John Day, was cited for open container.

? At 1 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, OSP stopped a pickup on Highway 26, at the west city limits of John Day, for failure to dim fog lights. Brett A. Morris, 20, John Day, was cited for minor in possession of alcohol, by consumption.

Grant County Sheriff’s Office? Laramie Horn, 20, Mt. Vernon, was cited for possession of an ounce of marijuana.

DispatchJohn Day dispatch worked 119 calls during the week of Dec. 28, 2009-Jan. 3, 2010. Along with the various traffic warnings, trespassing, injured animals, noise complaints and juvenile complaints, these calls included.

Law enforcement: John Day Police Department cited a Mountain Home, Idaho, man for speeding; Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of tires slashed in Prairie City; Monument Fire Department responded to a reported camping trailer on fire on Highway 19; Sheriff’s deputies arrested a John Day woman on a Grant County bench warrant; JD Police responded to a report of shots fired at Riverside Mobile Home Park; JD Police arrested a John Day woman for DUII; Sheriff’s deputies took a report of horse abuse in Prairie City; JD Police received information on a rape at Riverside Mobile Home Park; Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Prairie City man on a Deschutes County warrant; Sheriff’s deputies cited a John Day man for speeding on Highway 26 near Moon Creek Road; Sheriff’s deputies cited a Warm Springs man for driving while suspended.

Ambulance: John Day ambulance responded to a report of a man having chest pain; Dayville ambulance and Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a noninjury accident involving an overturned scoop loader; JD ambulance responded for a 24-year-old having a seizure; JD ambulance responded to an 84-year-old man experiencing a loss of strength; JD ambulance responded for an 87-year-old woman with chest pains; Prairie City ambulance was dispatched for an unconscious woman.
