Romance: Sproul - Mattocks

Alma Sproul and Jimmy Mattocks, both of Hillsboro, have announced their engagement. They plan to marry in December.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of James T. and Carlyn Jo Sproul of Canyon City. She has a bachelor’s degree from Linfield College in McMinnville and a master’s degree from Oregon State University in Corvallis.

The prospective groom is the son of Dennis Mattocks of Gaffney, S.C., and Laura Mattocks of Phoenix, Ariz. He has a bachelor’s degree from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Ariz., and a master’s degree from Oregon State University.

Sproul is an athletic trainer at Pacific University in Forest Grove. Mattocks also works as an athletic trainer and is employed by the Cincinnati Reds.
