Letter: Use voice to say no

To the Editor:

Just my two cents worth about Measures 66 and 67 coming up for a vote.

Since President Obama has just approved a 2 percent increase in all federal employee salaries, effective Jan. 1, 2010, and all members of the executive, judicial and legislative branches of government get their usual cost-of-living adjustment as usual, and all Social Security payments are frozen, don’t we need to wake up to what is going on?

Our state legislators increase their pay at will, while they try to scare us into passing an increase that will affect us all, regardless of what they say.

All the scare tactics are as usual, but giving more money to the government on any level to use the way they have shown us they use it is beyond stupid.

There aren’t many times that we even get a chance to have a voice; this is one of them. Let’s try a big “no.”
