JOHN DAY – Suzanne Findlay is back with new watercolors showing at the Grant County Chamber of Commerce, where she is featured as the January Artist of the Month.

Last June, Findlay attended a Watercolor Society of Oregon workshop held at a ranch in Condon. Hyon Fielding of Fossil and Chris Stubbs of McMinnville, who led classes at the workshop, encouraged her to enter three of her paintings to be juried by the WSO.

In September, she became a working member of the WSO, and with her husband Richard, attended the group’s fall convention in McMinnville.

As a new member of the WSO, Findlay will have a painting on display at their spring convention this April in Brookings.

The Seneca resident is also a member of the Grant County Art Association.

Samples of her work can also be seen at various venues around Grant County, including the Squeeze-In Restaurant. Her paintings at the the Chamber are on display through January.

Findlay said she hopes everyone enjoys them as much as she enjoyed painting them.

The Chamber is located at 301 W. Main Street in John Day. Findlay can be reached at 541-542-2431.
