PENDLETON – Dubbed the best bike ride in America, Cycle Oregon is pedaling its way into Eastern Oregon this fall.

It’s the Round-Up Ride, a two-state ramble from Sept. 11-18 through the canyons, wheat fields, vineyards and forests of northeastern Oregon and southeastern Washington. It includes a two-day stop during the 100th anniversary of the Pendleton Round-Up.

The famed ride has reserved 2,000 tickets to the historic rodeo and the Happy Canyon Indian Pageant.

The ride starts and ends in the historic host town of Elgin and includes stops in Enterprise, Clarkston, Wash., Waitsburg, Wash., and Pendleton.

The ride is approximately 450 miles.

The ride is limited to approximately 2,200 riders.

Riders will enjoy campsites, food, hot showers, massage, cold microbrew, wine, live entertainment and a fully-supported route. Cost is $850, including an optional $25 donation to the Cycle Oregon fund.

The announcement was made Feb. 4 in Portland with the Pendleton Round-Up board and the Round-Up queen and her court.
