Obituaries: Henry Frank Blaszek Jr.

Henry Frank Blaszek Jr., 46, of Prairie City, died March 26, 2010, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, at The Branding Iron in Prairie City.

Mr. Blaszek was born Oct. 6, 1963, in Dearborn, Mich., to Virginia (Bean) and Henry Blaszek Sr. He graduated from Roscommon High School in Michigan and from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Mich.

On Dec. 9, 1997, he married Dawn Alberding in Roscommon. Together they opened and operated The Branding Iron in Prairie City.

He enjoyed fishing and playing black jack, Texas Hold ‘Em, pool and darts.

He helped many people in Arizona keep their restaurants and bars. He also helped remodel and open a restaurant, Route 66, in Tucumcari, N.M. He ran The Branding Iron and Saloon from Oct. 7, 2007, until his illness in summer 2009.

Survivors include his wife, Dawn Blaszek of Prairie City; his son, Henry Blaszek III of Arizona; and his daughter, Sheena Blaszek, also of Arizona.
