MT. VERNON – Idaho Power Company has scheduled a meeting for May 6 in Grant County to discuss the process that led to its selection of a route for the proposed 500-kilovolt transmission line.

The utility’s recommended route goes through Baker County.
That took Grant County off the table, but perhaps not permanently. Officials caution that in later stages of the siting process, the focus could swing back to the route proposals through Grant County.
The meeting will discuss how local residents can stay involved in the process.
