JOHN DAY – A summer hunter education class starts July 6 in John Day, with registration at 6 p.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on East Main Street.

The series of classes will continue July 7, 8, 12, 14 and 15, followed by a Saturday morning field day on July 17.

Hunters under age 18 must complete the course to hunt, other than on their own property.

It is the last class with Grant County chapter of the Oregon Hunters Association sponsorship for youth. The fee for ages 18 and up is $10.
