Icy crash on 26

A Prairie City EMT treats a driver stuck under the pickup truck he was driving when it ran off Highway 26 about 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25. The crash occurred  near Indian Creek, west of Prairie City. Police said the westbound truck attempted to pass at least three vehicles and then began to fishtail on the icy surface, slid off the road and rolled in a field. Oregon State Police said the driver, Jordan K. Dahlen, 18, of Prairie City was not wearing a seatbelt. He was taken by ambulance to Blue Mountain Hospital in John Day for treatment of injuries and released.
