Graveside services for former John Day residents Merritt E. and Thelma N. Weldin will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2011, at Canyon City Cemetery.

Merritt died July 1, 2010, from Alzheimers and a heart attack. Thelma died Oct. 27, 2010, as a result of a heart attack. They will be buried with their sons, Randy Gene and Danny Weldin.

The couple had also lived in Union. 

Friends and family are encouraged to attend the service.

Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and/or Alzheimers foundations.
