Oregon State Police
About 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, Oregon State Police arrested two women, Julie Ann Gray, 31, and Cheryl Ann Shippentower, 53, both of Strawberry Village Apartments in Prairie City. Both had warrants out of Union County for harassment and several felony assault charges. They were lodged in Grant County Jail.
At 11:47 p.m. Friday, June 10, OSP assisted John Day Police with a report of two males throwing a rock through a trailer window at Riverside Mobile Home Park. One of the suspects, Bryan Frank Wheeler, 19, with a last known address in Redmond, escaped on foot and was able to elude police. He has several warrants out for his arrest.
About midnight, Sunday, June 12, troopers assisted JD Police in searching for burglary suspects near South Canyon Boulevard and West Main Street in John Day. Arron A. Anderson, 26, John Day, was cited in lieu of custody for carrying a concealed handgun.
Police stopped a Subaru for defective lighting at Marysville and Sunny Ridge roads, at 1:35 a.m. Sunday, June 12. Kiaya L. Wilson, 19, was cited for minor in possession of alcohol.
Police stopped a white Dodge pickup for defective lighting and failure to dim lights, on Highway 395 in Canyon City, at 2:05 a.m. Sunday, June 12. Jonna Bishop, 40, Canyon City, was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants and taken to Grant County Jail.
Grant County Sheriff
Kelly Anderson, 52, Carson, Wash., was cited for failure to signal a turn.
Samuel Brown, 36, Bend, was cited for failure to register.

John Day dispatch worked 186 calls during the week of June 6-12, 2011. Along with the various traffic warnings, trespassing, injured animals, noise complaints and juvenile complaints, these calls included:

June 7: Arrested a John Day man for assault.
June 8: Report of minor smoking at Kountry Lanes.
June 11: Took a report of a found revolver.
June 12: Cited a Canyon City juvenile for illegal fireworks.
Grant County Sheriff:
June 6: Took a report that the snack shack at the Prairie City Athletic Complex was broken into.
June 9: Theft reported in Mt. Vernon; cited a Portland woman for speeding in Mt Vernon; cited a Mt. Vernon person for initiating a false report; cited a Mt. Vernon man for driving while suspended.
June 10: Arrested a Moab, Utah, man for driving under the influence of intoxicants.
June 11: Cited a Union man for speeding on Highway 26 east of Dog Creek Road.
John Day ambulance:
June 6: 82-year-old woman with trouble breathing; 91-year-old woman with burns; 80-year-old man with chest pain.
June 7: Dispatched for someone having a heart attack.
June 9: Woman, 84, in pain.
June 11: Man, 71, with breathing trouble.
