PRINEVILLE – South Fork John Day Road in Grant County will be closed from Deer Creek to Sunflower Creek for construction of a roadside retaining wall this month.

The closure is in effect from Aug. 1-26.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is posting closure signs at main entry points to this area.

Any motorized or non-motorized use on the road in the area is prohibited

during the temporary closure, except by workers, firefighters or emergency officials as required.

Violators could face fines of up to $1,000 and imprisonment for up to 12 months.
