Stacey McKinney, 52, of Prairie City, died July 28, 2011, at Blue Mountain Nursing Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Blue Mountain Nursing Home.

Mrs. McKinney was born Jan. 7, 1959, in Canyon City, to Gilda and Harriman McKinney.

In 1977, she graduated from Mt. Vernon High School.

She worked for the U.S. Forest Service as a computer programmer, analyst and hardware specialist. She also did work as a computer trainer and graphics designer.

She enjoyed art: oils, pastels and charcoal work. She also enjoyed ceramics, games, fishing, sports, books, movies and music.

She received the Point of Light Award for her humanitarian efforts in regards to the Forest Service, and the Heart Award for the Civil Rights and Disabilities for Malheur National Forest.

Survivors include her companion Red Dickerson of Prairie City.
