PRAIRIE CITY – Three campsites at Magone Lake Campground will be temporarily closed beginning Monday, Aug. 22. The closure is for installation of a new CXT vault toilet.

Works is expected to be finished on Wednesday, Aug. 24, subject to weather or construction delays.

Magone Lake Campground will remain open during the construction and workers will take necessary measures to limit impact to visitors, said Malheur National Forest spokesman Mike Stearly.

However, campers should be prepared for loud construction noise and dust during the three-day period.

When completed, the new facility will provide added convenience and accessibility to campground visitors, noted Stearly.
