JOHN DAY – To begin life at Grant Union Junior-Senior High School:

Seventh- through ninth-graders will begin school Monday, Aug. 29, to get used to the new consolidated scenario at Grant Union Junior-Senior High School.

The day will feature a relaxed “get to know things” approach, with a modified academic schedule in the afternoon, said Principal Curt Shelley.

First day for 10th- through 12th-graders is Tuesday, Aug. 30.

Younger students will occupy the area formerly known as “freshman hall.”

Those students are welcome to venture into the rest of the campus as well, said Shelley.

Younger students will also have use of the “old gym” as a place to socialize and recreate.
