PRAIRIE CITY – A grass fire west of Prairie City prompted lane closures on Highway 26 at mid-morning on Monday, Aug. 29.

Motorists were urged to be ready for delays and flaggers in the area just west of town, as fire crews worked to put out the fire.

The fire was on the north side of the highway.
