JOHN DAY – John Day Interagency Dispatch put out the word Monday morning that smoke seen in the local area is from fires in Central Oregon.
Westerly winds have pushed smoke into the John Day Valley, prompting concerned calls to the dispatch office. Officials said the smoke is not from any local incident, and all but two of the fires being handled by the John Day Interagency Dispatch Center are controlled. Both are staffed, lined and contained.
To report a wildfire call 541-575-1321.
