Donald Eugene Purvis

Donald Eugene Purvis, 79, of Prairie City, died Aug. 26, 2011, at Blue Mountain Hospital. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. at Ironside Cemetery with Pastor Floyd Cooper officiating.
Mr. Purvis was born June 15, 1932, in Ontario, to Jack and Altha (Long) Purvis. He graduated from Harper High School and served four years in the U.S. Air Force.
On June 22, 1962, he married Carol Hill in Weiser, Idaho.
He enjoyed driving in the hills, hunting, fishing and telling old stories. He was a member of American Legion Post 106 in Prairie City.
Survivers include his wife, Carol of Prairie City; sons, Donald Purvis Jr., of Albany, Ky., and John Allen Purvis of Tacoma, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Rusty Gene Purvis; and daughters, Tina Lou Purvis and Toni Rae Purvis.
