JOHN DAY – Silver Lining has made a jump to downtown John Day.
Debi Hueckman, owner of the women’s clothing boutique, has joined forces with Mary Branstetter, owner of Two Sisters on the Fly.
Branstetter sells one-of-a-kind home decor and handmade and embellished children’s clothing, and provides custom clothing alterations.
Their new shop is upstairs at 158 E. Main, Ste. 101 (sharing a door with Sisul Engineering,150 E. Main.) The hours are Fridays 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Friends since their high school days, the businesswomen plan to frequently update their merchandise with Branstetter changing the floor-level window display each week.
Brandstetter said their motto is, “If it’s not fun, then it’s not done.”
“We want to support each other and provide a fun shopping experience for women,” Hueckman said.
Juniors, misses, petites and women’s clothing can be found in the boutique with sizes ranging from 0-3X.
Hueckman also carries accessories, including shoes, handbags, jewelry and scarves.
Shoppers will find popular brand-name items such as Banana Republic, GAP, Ann Taylor Loft, American Eagle, and designer jeans, for “quality fashion at a fraction of the cost,” Hueckman said.
The merchandise is a combination of new and consignment items.
Hueckman noted that consignment clothing must have been purchased in the last three to four years and be in clean, like-new condition. When their items sell, consigners get 40 percent in cash or 50 percent in store credit.
“Most (consigners) do store credit,” Hueckman said.
Silver Lining’s move comes after two and half years of operating out of Hueckman’s John Day home.
Hueckman noted that a loyal clientele has allowed her to grow the business, and she hopes to continue on that path.
Coming up, bargain hunters can expect to find fall fashions in the next month or two.
“We want to keep things new and fresh,” said Hueckman.
