JOHN DAY – EORenew is inviting owners of homes and businesses in Grant County to submit their sites for inclusion in the annual Solar Tour.

The Tour features buildings that use renewable energy (active or passive solar, wind or home-scale hydro) and energy efficient features, as well as sustainable design and construction. It is held in communities across Oregon each year, in conjunction with the national event sponsored by the American Solar Energy Society.

The Solar Tour provides opportunities for people to experience real-life operating renewable energy systems and green building/remodeling options. It has become the cornerstone educational event for the Oregon Department of Energy, which will be promoting the Tour of Solar Homes as part of national Energy Awareness Month.
