Police arrest 1, seize pot in John Day

JOHN DAY A 22-year-old John Day-area man was arrested Sunday night on marijuana possession and distribution charges as police seized more than a pound of pot from his home.
The arrest came when Oregon State Police, with the assistance of Grant County Sheriff’s Office and John Day Police Department, served a search warrant about 7:50 p.m. March 11 at the home of Brian Michael Gentis on East Main Street.
According to Master Sgt. Gordon Larson, investigators were looking into reports of marijuana being sold from the house. The investigation was based on information from an earlier traffic stop.
Police seized the marijuana and other evidence in the search.
Gentis was lodged in the Grant County Jail. A 23-year-old man at the residence was not arrested.
