Workers install parts for the biomass boiler at Grant Union Junior-Senior High School, expected to go into operation this week. The school district is switching to biomass to save money on its energy bills; the change also supports the emerging woody biomass industry in Grant County. The project was made possible by a federal Qualified Zone Academy Bond, provided through the state. Northwest Thermal Systems Inc. is the contractor for the job.
